I have had a very varied career. I started in the food industry and my first job was working on flavours in Angel Delight! This led me to spend 16 happy years in the flavour industry, 8 of them in Cincinnati, USA, working with the major fast-food companies.
When I returned to the UK in 2000 I had young children and decided that to ensure some flexibility I would start my own business. Fate led me to the care business and I bought a leading home-care franchise. I ran this for 13 years and built it to a turnover of £3 million. I was able to sell it and this has allowed me to build a business in Live-in care - an area I have always been passionate about...........
Eximius Live-in care limited focuses purely on live-in care in the home. Studies show that 97% of people would rather stay in their own home than move into a nursing or residential home. Sadly most people don't realise there is an alternative, and that is live-in care. We provide support companions to stay in someone's home, for days, weeks or years. The companions help with all aspects of daily living, wether that be personal care, medication, shopping, cooking, cleaning - or playing scrabble! Anything required to keep someone safe and living with dignity in their own home.
My goal for Eximius is for it to become the "Norland Nannies" of live-in care. All our companions are fully trained and vetted, and we match them specifically to our clients. We monitor the care provided and have been rated "outstanding" for caring by the care quality commission.
I have seen the amazing results on someone's emotional and physical health that live-in care can provide and that is why I am passionate about our company. Our service is particularly suited to couples and people living with dementia or learning or physical disabilities. I am a dementia champion and due to family circumstances this is an area I am particularly focused on. I am happy to meet with families to discuss their options, and signpost them in the best solution for them. At Eximius, we provide the friendliest, happiest, most fulfilling care anyone could wish for.
